PSV LED boarding to be used against Vitesse

The new LED boarding in the Philips Stadium is due to be used at PSV's next home game. The necessary work to amend the infrastructure around the pitch was carried out last week. The boarding from the primary sponsor, Philips, will soon be in position around the entire pitch.

LED boarding was first used in the Philips Stadium over a year ago. The boarding was installed along the touchlines of the pitch in the Philips Stadium especially for the UEFA Cup match against the Swedish club Helsingborgs IF, so that additional advertising income could be generated from the game. Before the end of the season, PSV decided to purchase its own system. During the past week the necessary work has been carried out to amend the infrastructure, and today work commenced to install the permanent LED boarding which will permanently replace the old rotating advertising boards along the pitch with effect from the league match against Vitesse on 21 March.

245 metres of LED boarding

A total of 245 metres of LED boarding from our main sponsor will be installed. The average length of the boarding at other clubs in the Eredivisie (Premier League) is 216 metres. Furthermore, this new Philips system is 96 centimetres high, whilst the older versions are 16 centimetres lower. This week all of the modules are scheduled to be installed, so that next week extensive testing can be carried out on the set-up to be used for the match against Vitesse. The animations to be shown by the various sponsors and partners have already arrived.
